Privacy Policy

Who we are

KDLCoaching is the leadership coaching, training and consulting business of Karen Davey (Karen Davey trading as KDL Coaching, ABN 95 324 344 750). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean KDLCoaching. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We only collect what we need. Depending on how you deal with us, that may include:

• your name, email address and phone number
• your role, organisation or business name, team size and business stage, if you share them in an enquiry or waitlist form
• the details of any message you send us
• your strengths-quiz answers and result, if you take the quiz
• your booking details, if you book a call
• information you choose to share during coaching, training or workshops (see “Coaching conversations” below)
• basic website usage information, such as pages visited, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, collected through analytics cookies

How we collect it

Mostly directly from you: through the forms on this website, when you book a call, by email or phone, at events and workshops, and during coaching sessions. If your organisation books team training, it may give us your name and work contact details.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

• reply to your enquiry and arrange calls you book
• add you to a waitlist you’ve joined and tell you when a program opens
• send you your quiz result
• deliver coaching, training and programs you’ve signed up for
• send our newsletter, if you’ve asked for it
• run the business: invoicing, records and improving our services and website

We won’t use your information for anything unrelated without your consent, unless the law requires or allows it.

Email marketing

We only send our newsletter and marketing emails to people who’ve asked for them, or where the Spam Act 2003 allows it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop at any time.

Coaching conversations

Coaching sometimes touches on personal matters, including your wellbeing or health. You don’t have to share anything you’re not comfortable with. Anything you do share is held in confidence and used only to support your coaching. We won’t disclose it without your consent unless the law requires it, or there is a serious threat to someone’s life, health or safety. Coaching and any hypnotherapy audio we provide aren’t a substitute for medical or psychological care.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the business, and only as much as they need:

• GoHighLevel: our client and email system, which stores contact details, form submissions and bookings
• Netlify: hosts this website and processes form submissions on their way to GoHighLevel
• Cloudflare (Turnstile): checks that form submissions come from a person, not a spam bot
• Google Analytics: measures how the website is used
• Zoom: for online coaching sessions and programs
• our email, accounting and cloud storage providers
• professional advisers such as an accountant, if needed

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Overseas storage

Several of these providers store data outside Australia, mainly in the United States. Some, including Google and Cloudflare, also use servers in other countries. We choose established providers with strong security, but by giving us your details you understand your information may be held overseas.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are popular. This information is grouped and doesn’t identify you by name. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site still works without these cookies.

Our chat widget (provided by GoHighLevel) uses cookies to keep your conversation going, and messages you send through it are stored in GoHighLevel.

How we keep it safe

We store information with reputable providers that use encryption and access controls, and we limit access to the people who need it. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or for as long as the law requires (for example, tax records). After that, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time. Email Karen@kdlcoaching.com.au. We’ll respond within 30 days. There’s no charge. If we can’t give you access, for a reason the law allows, we’ll explain why.

Anonymity

You can browse this website without telling us who you are. To reply to an enquiry or coach you, we need your real name and contact details.

Children

Our services are for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Questions or complaints

If you have a question or concern about how we’ve handled your information, email Karen@kdlcoaching.com.au. We’ll respond within 30 days and try to fix it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
